I recently published an article on School Library Journal about climate change and sustainability games and their opportunity to educate young people about pressing issues such as the climate crisis and environmental challenges. SLJ — which boasts over 200,000 readers — features many articles and reviews especially of interest for librarians, media specialists, and educators.
I argue that games of various kinds can be “a powerful way to teach, persuade, or raise awareness about important topics that young people should care about, such as social justice or civic issues,” by tackling “complex topics like climate change and sustainability in a unique way.
